Tide Faces South Carolina Tonight

By

The Crimson Tide will try to end its three game losing streak tonight in Columbia when they face South Carolina.

In the Tide's last game against the Kentucky Wildcats, Bama shot well from the field, but it still wasn't enough to win the game.

One of the problems has been the lack of production from Tony Mitchell who has struggled recently. It seems that when Mitchell is on his game, the Tide wins games, but when he is off, they lose.

The Tide freshman on the other hand, have stepped up their game. Levi Randolph and Trevor Lacey have been impressive this season so far and the Tide will need their production if they are to contend for an NCAA Tournament bid.

The Gamecocks are on a four game losing streak. They are led by senior forward Malik Cooke. He leads the team in scoring at 12.2 points per game and sophomore Bruce Ellington who is the team's second leading scorer, adding 10 points per game.

Despite their struggles, the Gamecocks seem to play better at home and like the Tide, have lost a few close contest. Bama has struggled at times on the road and they do not need to fall asleep on this Gamecock team or they will find themselves in a deeper hole by the end of the night.

The Tide and Gamecocks tip-off tonight at 7 p.m. cst check your local listings.
