A Day For Champions: Tide Celebrates Its Four National Champions

By

It started out as a rainy Sunday, but you couldn’t tell that by the smiles that Alabama coaches and fans had as they celebrated the four national championships that were won this past academic year.

The year started off with Nick Saban winning the BCS Championship in January, Sarah Patterson and the Tide gymnastics team winning their sixth overall title, Mic Potter and the Crimson Tide women’s golf team winning their first national championship in golf and the season ended with Patrick Murphy and the Alabama softball team wrapping up the year with their first national championship.

Fans stood in line today at Tuscaloosa Toyota to take pictures with all four trophies and to get autographs from the coaches; Coach Saban of course was unable to make an appearance today because he and his team are preparing for Michigan.

From now on, celebrations like this will soon be taking place at the new Sarah Patterson Championship Plaza which will be place between Coleman Coliseum and Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

The ground-breaking of this $2.8 million facility will take place soon.
