Tide Struggles Again in Loss to K-State

By

It’s becoming an all too familiar scene in the past four games. The Tide gets off to a fast start, loses itself defensively and offensively and gets blown out in the second half.

That’s exactly what happened Saturday night in Kansas City against Kansas State. The Tide got off to a seven point lead only to have Kansas State to take the lead at the end of the half and get blown out in the second half.

“I thought Kansas State came out tonight and did a great job attacking our pressure,” UA head coach Anthony Grant said. “You look at the numbers, 63 percent from the field in the second half and they were able to turn us over 18 times in the game. They outrebounded us as well. Any time you play against a team of the caliber of Kansas State on the road, those numbers are tough to overcome.”

The Tide did shoot 44 percent overall, but still struggled from the three-point line (2-14) and fell apart again defensively.

One of the few bright spots of the evening was Trevor Releford who had 14 points in his homecoming. JaMychal Green added 20 points.

The Tide will next face Oklahoma State Wednesday night in Birmingham at the BJCC. Tip-off will be 8 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN2.
