Saban is Going To Miss This Year’s Seniors

In college football there is always turnover. Especially at Alabama, where 5-star players rarely last to their senior season as the NFL comes calling.
However, for the seniors that stayed to their senior year, Alabama's Coach Saban is going to miss them dearly. He knows the importance in honoring the seniors this weekend at the Chattanooga game, which is also the last time the seniors will play on Bryant Denny field.
Coach Saban explained his gratitude, “When the thing comes on Saturday, it is a little bit emotional for me because I can’t believe how fast it goes by,” he said. “When I shake hands with these guys, I remember going into their house. It just seems like it was yesterday. Now they’ve been here, had success and they are gone.”
This class has won national titles in 2011 and 2012, and some like A.J. McCarron were around for the 2009 title as redshirt freshman. So the fingers of this class of Alabama players is definitely heavy with the championship rings.
In Coach Saban's book, national championships are a result of the process of training players to be disciplined in doing the right things. However, with this in mind, the real reason that Saban desires most to impact players in learning life lessons.
“More than anything else, the No. 1 goal that we have for our players is that the things that they learn here, whether it’s character, discipline, good choices and decisions, consequences of good choices and decisions are all things that are going to help them be more successful in life,” Saban said.
With that said, Coach Saban wants Bama fans to know that they need to share the love for this outstanding group of players by coming early for the Chattanooga game.
“I do think that for fans to get there a little early and show appreciation for what these guys have done here over the last four or five years would certainly mean a lot to the coaches, myself and to the players and their families,” Saban said. “I certainly thank you for that.”
