Alabama/Texas A & M Preview

By

After a great come from behind victory at LSU last week, the Tide comes home to face what some thought a few months ago as an easy Texas A & M team. Instead, the Aggies are the surprise of the league.

While Missouri has struggled, the Aggies have not only fit in, they could finish tied for first or second in the SEC West depending on how the next few weeks play out.

The talk of the league this year has been Johnny Maziel or Johnny Football as his friends like to call him. He has taken the league by storm with his offensive play, leading the Aggies to a 7-2 record. The Aggies are the top offensive team in the SEC.

Manziel leads his team into Tuscaloosa to face an Alabama team that gave its all last week in the victory over LSU. Some say the Tigers exposed the Tide's defense with their play and think that A & M will give the Tide fits on defense.

But keep in mind a few things: First of all, despite giving up 400 plus yards to LSU, the Tide still held the Tigers to just 17 points. Another thing is that when A & M has played pretty good defense, they have struggled. One last thing to think about, the A & M defense has a tendency to give up big plays.

Even though Alabama offense stalled at times last week, when it was time to make the big plays to win the ball game, AJ McCarron and the Alabama offense stepped up their game.

This will be the best offense that the Tide will face this year, so it won't be easy, but if I know Nick Saban, the mistakes that were made last Saturday, were corrected.
