Saban: Fowler Out For The Year

Nick Saban reported today that running back Jalston Fowler will be out the rest of the year because of knee injury he suffered Saturday against Western Kentucky. Fowler went down in the fourth quarter of the game.

"I know he feels badly and we feel badly for him, too," Saban said.

"We're going to miss him," Saban said. "It's going to take a number of people to replace him on the various roles he played on our team."

According to Saban, Fowler has having surgery today to repair his injured knee.

According to Tide beat reporter Cecil Hurt, Fowler may be able to get a medical redshirt since this was only the second game of the year.
