Besides the secondary, another question fans are wondering about the defense this season is who is going to replace Dont’a Hightower and Courtney Upshaw at the linebacker’s position.

First of all, you’ll never really replace two of the best linebackers in the country last year, but then again Nick Saban really doesn’t replace players-he reloads.

This year will be no different. Saban will turn to veterans Nico Johnson and C.J. Mosley to fill Upshaw and Hightower’s shoes along with sophomore Xzavier Dickson.

“I just try to play to my potential and try to get better and better,” Dickson said. “Courtney was a great player. I just try to do what I do best.
