Tide Snags No. 1 Running Back In Georgia

By

Tyren Jones, the No. 1 running back in the state of Georgia, committed to Alabama.

The 5-foot-8 junior from Walton High School picked Alabama over Georgia and Clemson.

According to Jones' head coach Rocky Hidalgo this was somewhat of a surprise.

“Yes, it was a quick turnaround,” said Hidalgo to the the Atlanta Journal.

“I don’t think he went over to Junior Day with the idea that if they offered, he was going to commit. He just went there and was really impressed. They’re the national champions, man. It is what it is. It’s a great opportunity for Tyren. You go to Alabama and play in front of some of the most passionate fans in the country, and you potentially have the chance to play for national championships during your 4-5 years there. He’s a great kid and going to do really well there.”

Jones said he went ahead and committed because he wanted to end the process, but was we all know with recruiting, it's never over until the kid signs so let's just hope the process is really over for him.
