VIDEO: On the Road to the 14th National Championship: Game 2 Penn State

By

The last few seasons, the Tide has opened up on the road with Clemson and Virginia Tech in the Georgia Dome; this year, the Tide waited until the second game of the season to go on the road to play Big 10 foe Penn State.

Penn State came into this game with one of the top defenses in the country so it would be a tough road game and test for first time starter AJ McCarron.

After Penn State took an early 3-0 lead, the Tide took over. McCarron would throw a bullet touchdown pass to TE Michael Williams to take a 7-3 lead.

The defense would shut down the Penn State offense, while the Tide offense would use Trent Richardson’s 111 yard two touchdown game to close out the Nittany Lions.

The Tide won 27-11.
