McElwain Pulls Out Of Memphis Job
By
Just when it looked like Alabama's offensive coordinator was going to take the Memphis head coaching job, he changes his mind. He officically removed himself as a candidate according to reports by the Tuscaloosa News.
My guess is that he heard that there was better opportunities coming open to coach around the country and wants to keep his options open. There are some rumors that Fresno State is courting McElwain. He does have history there as an assistant coach so he knows that area well.
During McElwains tenure as offensive coordinator, Alabama has had great success with a 47-6 record. Alabama's offense is currently #2 in the SEC.
Keep your ears open on this one. We hope McElwain will hang around long enough to coordinate the offense on January 9th.
