Tide Has Big Lead in New BCS Standings
By
The BCS standings came out yesterday and to no one’s surprise both LSU and Alabama were No. 1 and No. 2; Oklahoma State was third after Arkansas was pounded by LSU Friday.
The shock apparently to some college football experts was the gap between OSU and Bama which was larger then most had imagined.
The Tide has a HUGE lead over the Cowboys, almost guaranteeing a rematch between No. 1 and No. 2. BCS expert Brad Edwards said on a radio station in Birmingham today that even OSU is not guaranteed the No. 3 spot in the country even if they beat Oklahoma because of No. 5 Virginia Tech.
Tech may actually jump OSU and No. 4 Stanford because they would win the ACC Championship which for some would be more valid to them.
With that said, unless there is a major change of heart in the human polls (which is always a possibility), LSU and Alabama will probably rematch in New Orleans for the national championship.
