Alabama Beats A Fiesty Georgia Southern Football Team 45-21

By

Georgia state alabama logosAlabama's Nick Saban said it better than anyone when in the post game he said, "I'm glad its over." He knew coming into this game that it could potentially be a trap game that could sidetrack the Tide's championship aspirations. GSU came in with a 9-1 record, had speed and performed well all year, but in the end Alabama walked away with a 45-21 victory.

Trent Richardson had a great day in breaking the all-time season rushing TD mark set by Shaun Alexander. Richardson had 2 TDs with his 20th TD jaunt in a game that took until deep into the 4th quarter to rest the Heisman trophy candidate. Finishing with 32 carries for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns, Trent came out of the game healthy and ready for the upcoming Iron Bowl.

This game is a victory in the books and one that Alabama's defense will not forget anytime soon. GSU's Dominique Swope broke free from some big runs and finished with 153 yards and a score with a touchdown. One run was an explosive 83 yard sprint that ended up uncharacteristically in the endzone. Also uncharacteristically, Alabama's tough rushing defense allowed Georgia Southern to run for 302 yards.

Watch this play by Georgia State, it won't happen again I bet. Great play by them. You have to give them that.

All in all, it is good to get a win and Saban indeed said it best when he said "I'm glad its over."

After this victory, Alabama improves on the season to 10-1 and will be looking to move up to #2 in the BCS standings. This sets up the possibility of being in the national championship game if we can beat Auburn next week. Alabama takes on arch-enemy cross-state rival, the Auburn Tigers, next Saturday in what will be the 76th Iron Bowl game. The game will be played at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadiumand kickoff Saturday will be 2:30 p.m. (CST). The game will be televised on CBS.

Now lets beat the crap out of Auburn! RTR!

Great win, and now we have a real shot at the title again. Definitely should move to number 2, but our offense is way to predictable. We run the same plays every game, to easy for the defenses to read us. Why are we not at least using the wishbone from time to time. We have the best back in the country and Lacy is right up there with him. Let Mccarron run it, or bring in Simms with both backs in the backfield, would really throw defenses off on keying just on Richardson and we can actually pass in the wishbone threat. At least put both Richardson and Lacy in the backfield from time to time. We have the best talent for sure, but have to do a few extra things to throw people off, should have beat LSU by at least 2 touchdowns, but hate to say it but Miles just out coached us again this year. Saban is by far the better coach, go get em Nick!!
