Saban and Tide Players Moving on After Loss
ByThe name of the game on Monday was moving on and that’s what Nick Saban wants for his football team. During his press conference on Monday, Saban wanted to put the LSU loss behind him.
“We're moving on,” Saban said. “We need to do what we need to do to take care of business on things that we can control. So when you ask me questions about things I have no control over, those are the kind of answers you're going to get. I am focused on the things that we can control, which is how our team plays.”
Saban knows his players cannot have a hangover going into the Mississippi State game or the Tide could find themselves on the losing end again.
And although Saban is trying to get his players to move on, talk of the LSU loss still lingers, but players realize too it’s time to move forward.
“It was one of the toughest games we've played,” said defensive back Robert Lester. “We can't sit there and be down on ourselves about the loss. We've got to keep pushing forward and get ready for the next game. We've got to forget about it, act like it never happened. We don't pay attention to our record as it is. We focus on what we need to do, and Mississippi State is the next team to come up. We'll focus on what we need to do to beat them.”
Tide center William Vlachos agrees that it’s time for the Tide to move on if the still want to achieve their goals.
“Our goal is to win a national championship, obviously,” Vlachos said. “That kind of took a hit on Saturday. All we can focus on is what we're doing, the games that we have, we've got to be locked in, be ready to go and play our best football.”
