Unlike last year when the Tide had to go to overtime to defeat the UAH Chargers, the Crimson Tide took care of business 67-60 in regulation in the Tide’s first exhibition game. The Tide’s JaMychal Green's lead all scorers with 21 points.

Freshman Rodney Cooper led all freshmen with eight points after getting the starting nod along with Levi Randolph who was scoreless with four fouls.

Freshman Trevor Lacey was 1-of-4 for five points in his Crimson Tide debut.

Although it was a close contest, Tide head coach Anthony Grant was glad for the good competition that UAH provided.

“This is great because I think we learn a lot as a team,” said Grant. “I found out about our team in those situations.”

UAH is supposed to be one of the top teams in Division II men’s basketball this season.
Bama opens the regular season with North Florida Friday night at Coleman Coliseum at 7:00 p.m.
