Despite losing Saturday to LSU, Bama players said after the game on Saturday they welcome a rematch against the Tigers.

“We are still the best team in the country,” Alabama wide receiver Marquis Maze said. “If we played them again, we wouldn't lose.”

Darius Hanks backed up Maze’s comments. “Alabama is still the better team.”

The stats may back up what Hanks and Maze are saying, but in the end the scoreboard didn’t.

And although Bama players want a second chance against the Bayou Bengals, LSU players don’t share that sentiment.

“I wouldn't want to play them again,” said LSU safety Brandon Taylor. “They're a tough team. They've got good players and an outstanding coach. It was a great battle tonight. We gave the fans and the world a good show tonight.”

LSU guard Will Blackwell agreed "We felt like we played smash-mouth football. We finally got somebody who played almost as good as we did. Hopefully, we won't have to play them again."

But not everyone at LSU you felt the way Taylor and Blackwell did. Reportedly, Les Miles would welcome a rematch with the Tide.

“It would be an honor to play that team again,” Miles said.

And it would be honor for the SEC if these two were to have a rematch for the national championship.
