Alabama-LSU Game Talk Extends to NFL

By

Excitement abounds as fans across the country get ready for this weekend’s contest between Alabama and LSU.

There has already been some trash talk among fans, but now the talk has been extended to the ranks of the NFL as well.

According to the Atlanta Journal, some former Tide and Tiger players are taking bets amongst themselves about the game Saturday.

Former LSU center Todd McClure said it doesn’t matter who LSU puts on the field.

“We can pick any 22 guys to go out and play against this Alabama team, it doesn’t matter,” McClure said. “They could put all the names in a hat, draw out 11 and throw them on the field.”

McClure says LSU by seven points and Wilson says Alabama will win by double-digits. Wide receiver Julio Jones says he is “taking all bets.”

They are not the only former Tide and Tiger players who have an opinion on this game. Roman Harper of the New Orleans Saints and former LSU cornerback and Arizona Cardinals player Patrick Peterson explained to the Birmingham News why they think their team will win Saturday.

Harper said Bama will win “Because we're a better team, and it's in Tuscaloosa and we're bigger.”

Peterson thinks LSU will win a close game.

“It's going to be a tight game like always, but I think with what coach (Les) Miles and the LSU Tigers have going on, those guys are playing with a lot of energy. They have a high confidence level right now. I have all the confidence in the world we're going to bring home a W.”

We’ll see Saturday which predictions will be right.
