Hogs Slaughtered in Tuscaloosa

The headline on ESPN was "Statement Made" and it certainly was. The Alabama Crimson Tide made their case as being the best team in the country with their thumbing of the Arkansas Razorbacks, 38-14.

The Tide dominated on every aspect of the game; offensively, defensively and special teams, all scored today. The offense started off the game with a fake field goal which lead to a 37-yard TD pass from AJ McCarron to Michael Williams early in the game for a 7-0.

Then after a Bama field goal to go up 10-7, the defense would get into the act. Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson would be intercepted by Dequan Menzie and he would return it 25-yards for the touchdown to make the score at the half 17-7.

The second half started with a BANG as wide out Marquis Maze would have a spectacular 83 yard run back for a touchdown to take the lead to 24-7. From that point on, it was the Trent and Eddie show as both Richardson and Lacy would score the final two touchdowns. Richardson on a 61-yard pass play, Lacy on a four-yard run to make the final score 38-14.

The defense showed why they are the best in the country holding the Arkansas offense to 220 yards total including only 17 rushing yards which is the WORSE ever for any Arkansas team. The Tide's next game will be next week against Florida which will be a 7 p.m. in the Swamp.
