Finebaum Not Impressed with Tide’s Victory

By

I was watching my late news last night and caught Paul Finebaum on our local TV station here in Birmingham. While most people were impressed by Bama’s 27-11 victory over Penn State, Finebaum wasn’t.

Finebaum said Penn State isn’t a very good team and he was saying we (the media) said the same thing last year about Alabama thinking they were very good after they had defeated the Nittany Lions.

What was impressive to Finebaum? Auburn’s victory over Mississippi State or as I call it, their version of Survivor. Finebaum was more impressed by the lousy defensive play of Auburn and them surviving again, then Bama going to Happy Valley and defeating Penn State.

Think about this people: Bama went up to Beaver Stadium with a brand new quarterback, in a whiteout, in front of over 107,000 fans and defeated Penn State.

Is Penn State a great team? No, but it’s still Penn State, it’s still a Big Ten team and the win was still impressive.

This victory will probably help the team’s confidence in coming weeks as they go into SEC play.

Brian Kelly of Notre Dame and Mark Richt of Georgia, both had teams who ran up a ton of yards and scored a ton of points on Saturday, but when they woke up this morning, both of them were 0-2.

You think they’d rather have a vanilla victory or an exciting loss?

What I really find funny is Finebaum said beforehand that the game would be close and that Bama would win by 10…yet they win by 16 and it really was never close and it says it wasnt “impressive”. Finebaum just says shit to get people irritated.
