How are the guys on the team going to dress for the Halloween parties this weekend? This is not confirmed, but I think I can guess a few of the costumes that the Alabama players will wear.

First of all, let’s look at the Rhode Scholar himself... Greg McElroy. He has had to definitely escape some serious booby traps and pitfalls to become one os the most efficient quarterbacks in all of college football in terms of passing. He could use a bit more instinct and a little less thinking, but he is like a professor, so I think he will dress like "Indiana Jones!"

Next I wondered what the "REAL JONES" would be... that is "JUUUUUULIO JONES"...and after thinking about his game against Tennessee Saturday night, it had to be the MAN OF STEEL... SUPERMAN! SUPER JULIO maybe... With a broke hand, he goes on to break the single game receiving record at Alabama. Talk about tough! Breaking this record with a broke hand was no small feat when you consider all the great recievers who have ever put on Crimson and White at the Capstone! He is definitely from another world!

Next, I got to thinking about Marcel Dareus. He is a jolly giant of a defensive lineman, but to the offenses that face him every week... he can seem a little like an OGER! So I pictured him as SHREK!

Another player who has shown a lot of toughness this year, coming back from knee surgery is Mark Ingram. Sure, we all know he has struggled some but he is still one of the best backs in America, and it is getting to that time of the year where his physicality is like an iron fist to the opposing defensive players who have to hit him. So he is "Iron Man Ingram!"

Finally, we have another back in the backfield who is making a name for himself. His leadership is second to none. He is a tough guy who wants nothing else but to win. He even likes to wear a little hounds tooth in his wardrobe... as evidenced by his signing day from Florida. I would imagine that he would be breaking the same hat out to play one of the most famous characters in Alabama history... Bear Bryant!

There will be quite a Halloween party with all these guys dressed up... No telling what the cheerleaders will think ...not to mention Nick Saban! Anyway, I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!

Roll Tide!   Alabama stomped Florida 32-13 in a good old butt kicking!  SEC championships aren't won on paper, but on a place called the gridiron.  Saban knows how to pull the very best out of his teams and the Florida game was one of the most overwhelming wins in a SEC title since the league expanded in 1992.   Bama dominated in every phase of the game over the Gators that were coming off their second national championship in three years.   This was supposed to be the year that Florida was unbeatable.  Afterall, they had "Superman", Tim Tebow . 

Bama's defense and offense played an outstanding game in all aspects.  I would liken it to a well oiled machine running at optimum capacity.  Tebow reminded me of Gino Toretta of the 1992 Nation Championship game.  He has a confused look in his eye and he was never comfortable throughout the game.  Defensive coordinator, Kirby Smart, had a gameplan that kept Tebow in his Clark Kent suit all night long, only to spot him in a toll booth later crying. 

On offense... McElroy looked like the Heiesman candidate...but so did Ingram (and he will win it).  The receivers caught passes.  The backs pounded Florida behind a dominating offensive line.  On defense, Florida was smothered.  They did not even score in the second half!  The king of the comeback, Tebow, had no answer for McClain & Gang!   Special teams played great for the most part, besides one missed extra point.  It was an all around great effort. 

To Be The Best, You Have to Beat The Best!

Alabama started the season wanting to beat the very best, and that happened Saturday.  The wait is on for the national championship game, but I have no doubt of the outcome.  Texas will be tough but Bama has a different attitude than ever before.  Like a shark that smells blood, Bama is ready for the kill. 

It was said that Mount Cody and some players tried to hit Coach Saban with Gatorade following the SEC victory over Florida... but Rolondo McClain stopped it.   He demonstrated leadership by saying that there will be no Gatorade on coach until they win the BIG GAME.  I call that laser focus. 

This is Alabama's first title in 10 years, but I have a suspicion that this upcoming decade will be a decade of dominance likened to the 70's when a man named Bear roamed the sidelines in Tuscaloosa.  The streak of a SEC title every decade since the beginning of the SEC was preserved.  The swagga is back... most importantly, Bama is back.

Mount Cody is one of the most exciting players on the Alabama football team. At over 350 pounds, he is most definitely a force to be reckoned with as opposing offenses try to keep him out of the backfield. Check out this leap like Superman as this mountain flys over a "Mallet" following an Arenas sack. You can't say more about the big fella but that he is simply amazing! Word is that he can dunk a basketball pretty nicely as well! Mountains can fly... check out this video and see it happen!

What is he? Superman? What's next? Leaping over a tall Atlanta building? X-ray vision? (He might find that one useful! LOL) But for real, who gets shot on Monday and wants to play a football game on Saturday? ...and I thought McClain was the tough one on our D! Talk about being a man!

In an interview this morning, Nick Saban indicated that it is not an open and shut case of Brandon not playing.  Alabama's medical staff will evaluate him medically in the warm-ups and make a decision on whether to let him particicate in this high profile game with national significance.  

It was a flesh wound so it is very possible we see the Man of Steel himself, Brandon, flying around the backfield of the Hokies tonight.  All I can say is that this is amazing... lets just hope the Hokies don't have any kryptonite!  LOL
