Phillip Dukes & Cameron Clear. One of those announcements has already came. Phillip Dukes committed to the Gamecocks. It came down to Clemson, Auburn, Alabama, North Carolina, or South Carolina, and Dukes chose South Carolina. It seems that South Carolina is sneaking up on a lot of folks in recruiting as Steve Spurrier is finally getting things going in South Carolina. Let’s hope this doesn't influence Jadaveon Clowney in any way to form a "dream team" defensive line in Columbia, SC. Unfortunately, there is word that Clowney has a friendship going with Dukes. Whether that translates well for Bama remains to be seen. Considering that Clowney's mom has been heard saying that it would be nice if Jadaveon could stay close to home, it means that it might not be a good idea to hold your breath until February 14th, his birthday and the date of his commitment.


Cameron Clear is set to announce today. He is a Memphis, TN prospect at offensive tackle that has a real chance to be a nice tight end at his height on the college level. Cameron Clear will commit today by announcing today between Alabama, Tennessee, Memphis and Duke at at 1:00 CST in his high school library. The 6-foot-6, 265-pound offensive lineman is rated by most recruiting services as the No. 2 recruit in the state out of Tennessee this year. From his picture, he looks a little soft in the stomach area but that can be worked off if he plans to run tight end routes at Bama. I am sure Coach Saban seen talent in the kid to make the offer.

Things are getting close to the end of the line on the Alabama recruiting front this year, but the outlook is good with a top 5 class.   From what I am told, Florida has the best ever recruiting class in history (most likely a result of tehir national championship last year and the exodus of so many elite juniors of this years team)  but Alabama is not far behind.  I am not worried about Florida because I feel like our coaches can coach circles around Florida's.   

At this point in the process, Alabama is simply reloading.  I read this nice article below abouthow we are progressing this year in recruiting.  If we had a crystal ball that worked right, we could tell more about it.  Nevertheless, I think you will enjoy this read....
