To let you know what has been holding me back, we are buying our first house and it has been very time consuming. I had to do several repairs myself, including installing a new door for the first time. Meanwhile, Bama has played 2 games since my last post!

The Duke game was a bit of a snoozer after the 1st quarter outburst and the hogs game this last week was a bit too much! I am glad we came out on top, and I am pumped about playing Florida this week!

Look for me to be back to posting more articles for rest of season, although next week will be hit and miss since I need to paint and move.

Lots going on, but one thing is for sure, I am still here and still pumped up about the Crimson Tide!

Defending national champion Alabama has the most first-team all SEC football players on the coaches preseason all SEC team.

ALL SEC OFFENSE
From Alabama there is, of course, Heisman award winning running back Mark Ingram on first-team offense. Also there is Julio Jones at wide receiver, Barry Jones on the offensive line.

The second-team offense has QB Greg McElroy, RB Trent Richardson, and OT James Carpenter. I consider Trent Richardson being a second-team all SEC running back when he doesn't even start for Alabama to be simply amazing. This shows how stacked Alabama really is in the backfield.

ALL SEC DEFENSE

On first-team defense, SEC coaches picked rising star Marcell Darius on the defensive line, Mark Barron in the secondary, Dont'a Hightower at linebacker. Dont'a Hightower is returning from a severe knee injury and it will be interesting to see how he factors into the new 2010 Alabama defense. Hopefully his knee will all doubt that he will prove to be one of the top defenders in the SEC.

Florida has the most players overall with 10, but Alabama has more first-team ALL-SEC players with six total.

I smell a skunk!  Personally, I think the 2010 schedule for Alabama is unfair for the SEC opponents we play, in terms of talent, but there's something odd about their schedules are laid out against Alabama. All six have a bye week before the Alabama game! Thats right! I will repeat... Alabama plays 6 SEC games in 2010 against SEC opponents who have a bye week prior to the game against the Tide. Yes, you have heard me correctly. 6 SEC OPPONENTS.

By scheduling fenagling that could only be compared to origami, the Japanese art of paper folding, 6 opposing SEC teams have been able to change their schedules in order to be optimally rested for the national champions. Does this sound fair? It doesn't sound like it to me either, and although I know life is not fair, it does seem like there should be some rules made by the SEC to keep this from happening to any one particular team whether it be Vanderbilt or Alabama.

SEC Commissioner Mike Slive needs to look at the rules of scheduling for the SEC teams, and make sure that there is even scheduling of bye weeks for all teams in the SEC. Alabama athletic director Mal Moore already has raised a a red flag by requesting a review of this issue at a meeting of SEC athletic directors back in December.  The SEC needs to make sure that all SEC teams are scheduled fairly amongst each other from year-to-year so as to not disadvantage or advantage one SEC over another.

With that said, I still think we'll beat the crap out of everybody else anyway! LOL

Alabama is going to only practice its players for 3 days this week and will give the players the weekend off after Thursday practice. This week the Alabama football team just practiced fundamentals with the intention of getting the players mentally prepared for the final stretch run of the season. Hopefully the weekend rest will do a world of good.

Hoping the rest will allow starting tight end, Colin Peek, to return from injury for the upcoming LSU game. Next week, Alabama will begin a normal game week practice schedule in preparation for the Saturday Nov 7th game at 2:30PM home game against LSU (will be aired on CBS).

Mount Cody is one of the most exciting players on the Alabama football team. At over 350 pounds, he is most definitely a force to be reckoned with as opposing offenses try to keep him out of the backfield. Check out this leap like Superman as this mountain flys over a "Mallet" following an Arenas sack. You can't say more about the big fella but that he is simply amazing! Word is that he can dunk a basketball pretty nicely as well! Mountains can fly... check out this video and see it happen!
