Long snapper Carson Tinker received an honor that was long in coming and well deserved; Tinker was awarded a scholarship by Nick Saban.

When Tinker was called to Coach Saban’s office, he didn’t know what to think.

But when he found out the good news, he was relieved and honored.

“You really have to earn it, so it's an honor. I'm very thankful,” hesaid. “It's an answered prayer, honestly. I'm very thankful.”

Tinker is in elite company-he joins former linebacker Darren Mustin and specialists Leigh Tiffin and P.J. Fitzgerald as players who were awarded a scholarship by Saban.
