Obama Congratulates Tide on Victory

By

The college football world wasn't the only one impressed with the Tide's performance Monday night, so was the Commander and Chief.

Barak Obama called Nick Saban to congratulate him and his team on their victory over LSU.

Here is the official release from The White House on Thursday:

Earlier today, President Obama called Coach Nick Saban to congratulate him and the University of Alabama on their BCS Championship and their exceptional 2011-2012 season.

The President said that he watched the entire championship game and could not have been more impressed with the Crimson Tide's performance.

The President commended the coach on his outstanding record and said that he looks forward to congratulating the team in person at the White House.

Stop me if you heard this fact before, but most of Alabama's national championships in football have come under Democrats. In the early 1960's it was John F. Kennedy, late 1970's Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton in 1992, and in 2009 and 2012, Obama.

How ironic is that knowing that this is a red state literally and figuratively. Roll Tide!
