UA and LSU come together for BCS Community Project

The Alabama Athletic Department announced that Students and alumni from both UA and L S U will come together for a project in the New Orleans community at the Allstate BCS National Championship Service Project on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012.

Representatives of the two universities will work to improve the facilities of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Louisiana through painting, upkeep of the baseball fields and beautification of surrounding neighborhoods. The Boys and Girls Clubs facilities are located at 1140 S. Broad St. in New Orleans.

The service project will be from 1-5 p.m., Jan. 8, with check-in and lunch will begin at noon.
UA participants can pre-register online at www.volunteer.ua.edu by clicking the Allstate BCS National Championship Service Project icon. Space is limited to only 200 volunteers for each school.
