McElwain Now on Fresno State’s Radar

Tide offensive coordinator Jim McElwain may not be on Memphis’ radar any more, but he seems to be on Fresno State’s.

Before becoming Alabama’s offensive coordinator, the 49-year old worked as the OC for the Bulldogs and now with his success in Tuscaloosa, there are prominent members of the Bulldog Foundation who want him back.
“I know he said he was interested [in] coming back to Fresno State before, and he'd definitely be a good choice for the university to consider,” Harry Gaykian, a Bulldog Foundation member for 43 years, told the Fresno (Calif.) Bee.
“Whether he's the best fit, I don't know. I know a lot of people would be excited about him coming back. He did a lot of good things when he was at Fresno.”
According to AL.com, there might be mutual interest from McElwain as well.
Two years ago, Gaykin and five others attended the Alabama-LSU game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. According to the Bee, they met with McElwain and asked if he'd ever be interested in coaching again at Fresno State.
McElwain said yes, according to Gaykian.
“Just let me know when Pat Hill leaves or retires,” McElwain reportedly had said, according to the booster.
It’ll be interesting to watch and see if McElwain does show any interest in a job like Fresno State in a down conference like the WAC or stay in Tuscaloosa at one of the top programs in the country and continue to build on his resume’. My guess is that if Bama wins another NC and if McElwain stays, he’ll be one if not the, highest paid assistant in the game which might be another reason to stay in Tuscaloosa.

Please Mr. McElwain go to the dogs…We need a new OC at Bama that’s for sure. We need a three man back field on offense with all the talent we have a running back.
