Who Is Ready For LSU?

The big game is Saturday with LSU and it is turning out to be almost a semifinal type game for the national championship. Granted there is much more football to play before Pasadena, this game could put the winner on track for the opportunity to represent the SEC in the NC game.

The question is this... Who Is Ready For LSU?

I think the week off will help us get our feet under us for the stretch run, and it is important that we play LSU with some fresh legs.

I am hoping Colin Peek comes back strong for this game and plays well. I sincerely believe his presence not being in the Tennessee game affected our offense more than most fans realize. Peek has been practicing in individual drills and rehabbing his knee in the pool this week. The hope is that he will be full strength from a knee ligament strain. If he is back, we will have a great blocker and pass catching weapon to help McElroy & Ingram bring the offense back to early season form.

Is Saban eager for LSU?

I have a feeling that he will always eagerly anticipate the LSU game more than others, but he is not letting it show. He has repeatedly said that this isn't Saban verses Les Miles or LSU. It is about the football players. He knows the task at hand against the #9 LSU Tigers will not be easy. His statement on Wednesday was:

“Practice is going well this week and the players are working hard to try and prepare,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban stated following Wednesday’s practice. “We want to finish the week strong. Tomorrow is a real mental preparation day for us, lots of reps and I’ve been pleased with the effort and attitude. This is a challenging team to prepare for on both sides of the ball. They have lots of good players, especially skill guys on offense, and they utilize them in a lot of different ways and that’s always challenging. Defensively they are very good up front, very good in the secondary. They’ve really got good players in the secondary and have played extremely well all year, but especially in the last two games.”

How about the players?

The players know what this game means.  Lets hope, anyway.  Lose it and we possibly will not go to Atlanta, much less Pasadena.

Or as TD Jakes famously says, "GET READY, GET READY, GET READY!"
