Richardson’s Heisman Hopes In Question

By

According to college football experts, a lot of things would have had to happen for Trent Richardson to jump Andrew Luck in the Heisman race; one of them was Alabama beating LSU.

Although overall Richardson had a pretty good game running the football and receiving (he had 192 all-purpose yards), his Heisman candidacy did take a hit with Bama’s loss Saturday night.

But not as big of a hit as some would think. In some Heisman polls, Richardson has dropped to fourth in the race and can move up again if
Andrew Luck has a bad or average game against Oregon and if Richardson can have a HUGE game against Mississippi State.

But Luck can pull away this weekend with a Stanford victory and big game as well. At this point, Richardson’s concern is not winning the Heisman Trophy (and according to him never has been), but getting Alabama back into the national championship picture.

Let’s hope it starts this weekend against Mississippi State.
