Richardson May Come Back for Senior Season

By

To the surprise and the shock of this Alabama fan, Trent Richardson said today on the Dan Patrick Show that he is in no rush to head to the NFL.

“I have no reason to go anywhere right now,” Richardson said. “I’m not worried about getting to the League. The League’s not going anywhere.”

Most experts and just smart people in general know that Richardson would be a top five pick in the NFL Draft next year so for him to say at least for now he doesn’t plan to go anywhere, was a pleasant surprise.

Richardson wouldn’t be the first projected first round draft choice to stay in school. Peyton Manning did the same thing his junior year and ended up still as the No. 1 overall player in the draft the following year.

Tim Tebow also decided to stay for his senior season and ended up as the No. 1 draft choice of the Denver Broncos and recently Andrew Luck of Stanford also decided to stay which doesn’t seem at this point to hurt his draft stock.

So, it’s not unheard of and it’s actually very refreshing to hear a player say at least to this point, he’s not quite ready for his college career to end.

But if he did decide to go, who could blame him and we’d wish him well.
