Herbstreit Questions McCarron’s Leadership

By

You know it’s amazing to me that although Alabama qb AJ McCarron is 4-0 as starter, there are still skeptics out there questioning his quarterbacking ability; one of them being ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, Herbstreit like Gary Danielson, is still questioning if AJ McCarron can carry the Tide to the national championship.

“We're going to see this week if AJ McCarron is ready to take the baton from Greg McElroy,” Herbstreit said.

Herbstreit is asking if McCarron ready to go to the Swamp and beat the Florida Gators, my question is, why isn’t this being said about Gator qb John Brantley?

Who has Brantley faced that have people convinced that he can beat Alabama? Unlike McCarron who has faced two top 25 teams one of them on the road, to my knowledge, Brantley hasn’t left the Swamp.

Yet Danielson and Herbstreit haven’t said two words about that, but continue to question McCarron.

Herbstreit continued to say that both teams will have to figure out how to stop the other’s running game and contain the short passing game.

He also wants to see if Alabama “can get vertical down field.” Herbstreit normally knows what he is talking about, but I guess like Danielson until in their minds AJ throws for 300 yards in a game, they won’t be convinced he is a good SEC quarterback.
