Tide Notes for 9/26

By

Although Alabama dominated the Arkansas Razorbacks yesterday, the Tide still remained third in the AP Poll behind new number No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Oklahoma. In the Coaches poll, the Tide and Tigers are tied for No. 2.

In the game Saturday we all remembered the fake field goal for the touchdown that Coach Saban called. Apparently, besides Arkansas, the fans were caught off guard too, but not the players. According to former Bama qb Greg McElroy on his Twitter feed yesterday, this has been in the works for a year.

McElroy said this: TD! We've been practicing that one for a year! Finally got it called! Way to make it count AJ!

Now, the Tide has added yet another wrinkle for other coaches to worry about.

One more stat from the Arkansas game that will make Alabama fans smile and Razorback fans sick: The Tide has scored 20 TDs vs. Arkansas since 2008. Of those, 14 TDs have gone for 25 yards or more. That pretty much sums up why Bobby Petrino is 0-4 against Nick Saban.

One note from the NFL, Mark Ingram scored the winning touchdown Sunday to lead his New Orleans Saints over the Houston Texans, 40-33. Congratulations Mark!
